Founded in 1997, the company’s Research and Development, Manufacturing and Warehousing facilities serve as a substantial source for custom/toll manufacturing and boronic acid derivatives. It is Optima’s growing line of boronic acid derivatives that distinguish Optima in meeting the demands of the modified Suzuki coupling reaction, so crucial in drug discovery processes.

In June, 2015, Optima Chemical acquired manufacturing assets in Belle, West Virginia, from The Chemours Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont. The acquisition gives Optima a second manufacturing site resulting in additional manufacturing capacities. The facility's two distinct chemical units increase Optima's resources; one which allows the company to offer agricultural intermediates; the other featuring capabilities that are similar to those offered from Optima's site in Douglas, Georgia.
